Riccardo Petrella: "Kriege der Märkte - Wars of the markets - Les guerres des marchés."

🎓 Stefan Fuchs (Wirtschaftsjournalist) im Gespräch mit Riccardo Petrella (geb. 1941). Der italienische Politologe und Menschenrechtsaktivist und emeritierte Professor der katholischen Universität de Louvain in Belgien gilt als einer der profiliertesten Kritiker des entfesselten Marktes. Er kämpft seit den 70er Jahren nicht nur gegen die Privatisierung von Wasser. Im Wettbewerb um die Privatisierung von Bildung, medizinischer Versorgung, Transportsystemen und Sozialsystemen verbirgt sich die Enteignung weiter Teile der gesellschaftlichen Besitzstände zum Zwecke individueller Bereicherung. Die fehlende Besteuerung großer Vermögen und weitgehgende Befreiung der Besteuerung von Kapitalerträgen durch die Politiker der "Mitte" führte zu "Zwei Klassen Gesellschaften" in den westlichen Demokratien, dem Erstarken rechtsradikaler und faschistischer Parteien und dem Abbau demokratischer Grundrechte. In dem vor einem Viertel Jahrhundert geführten Gespräch mit Riccardo Petrella standen die Kriege der Märkte im Mittelpunkt.

The Italian political scientist, human rights activist and professor emeritus at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium is considered one of the most prominent critics of the unbridled market. Since the 1970s, he has fought not only against the privatisation of water. Competition and privatisation in education, healthcare, transport systems and social systems conceal the expropriation of large parts of society's assets for the purpose of individual enrichment. The lack of taxation on large fortunes and the extensive exemption of capital gains from taxation by politicians of the ‘centre’ is leading to a two-class society in Western democracies, the rise of right-wing extremist and fascist parties, and the dismantling of fundamental democratic rights. In a conversation with Riccardo Petrella a quarter of a century ago, the focus was on the wars of the markets.

Politologue italien, militant des droits de l'homme et professeur émérite de l'Université catholique de Louvain en Belgique, il est considéré comme l'un des critiques les plus virulents du marché dérégulé. Depuis les années 70, il lutte non seulement contre la privatisation de l'eau. La concurrence et la privatisation de l'éducation, des soins médicaux, des systèmes de transport et des systèmes sociaux cachent l'expropriation d'une grande partie des acquis sociaux à des fins d'enrichissement individuel. L'absence d'imposition des grandes fortunes et l'exonération fiscale quasi totale des revenus du capital par les politiciens du « centre » conduisent à une société à deux vitesses dans les démocraties occidentales, à la montée en puissance des partis d'extrême droite et fascistes et au démantèlement des droits démocratiques fondamentaux. Il y a un quart de siècle, l'entretien avec Riccardo Petrella était axé sur les guerres des marchés.

HateAid: "Menschenreche gelten auch im Internet - Human rights also apply on the Internet"

🎓 Nadja Luer (Berliner Journalistin) im Gespräch mit Anna-Lena von Hodenberg (Gründerin von HateAid). In dem Gespräch beschreibt Anna-Lena von Hodenberg die Arbeit von Hate Aid. Ein Fokus liegt auf dem Journalismus im Internet. Anna-Lena von Hodeberg erläutert im Detail, welche Folgen rassistischer Hass und Hetze im Internet insbesondere für Journalist:innen hat, aber auch wie sich jeder andere Betroffene mit Unterstützung von HateAid dagegen wehren kann. Die Organisation HateAid ist derzeit selbst betroffen. Hier ein Teil der Presseerklärung:
"Kurz vor Heiligabend hat das US State Department die Verhängung von Einreisesperren gegen fünf Personen verkündet. Neben denHateAid-Geschäftsführerinnen sind der ehemalige EU-Kommissar Thierry Breton, der CEO des CCDH Imran Ahmed und die CEO des Global Disinformation Index Clare Melford betroffen. Sie seien als “radikale Aktivisten” und “bewaffnete Organisationen” eingestuft worden. Eine Einreise in die USA sei ihnen und potentiell auch ihren Familienangehörigen daher nicht erlaubt. Ein gültiges ESTA-Visum von Josephine Ballon wurde kurz zuvor per E-Mail widerrufen."

Anna-Lena von Hodenberg describes the consequences of racist hate and incitement on the internet, particularly for this professional group, but also how each individual affected can defend themselves with the support of HateAid. "Shortly before Christmas Eve, the US State Department announced the imposition of entry bans on five individuals. In addition to the managing directors of HateAid, those affected include former EU Commissioner Thierry Breton, CCDH CEO Imran Ahmed and Global Disinformation Index CEO Clare Melford. They have been classified as ‘radical activists’ and ‘weaponized organizations.’ They and potentially their family members are therefore not permitted to enter the US. Shortly beforehand, a valid ESTA visa held by Josephine Ballon was revoked by email."

🎓 Christoph Burgmer im Gespräch mit Bahman Nirumand (geb. 1936). Der in Berlin lebende Journalist ist Autor zahlreicher Bücher über den Iran. In Teheran 1936 geboren kam er mit 14 Jahren nach Deutschland. Der Germanist, Philosoph und Iranist übersetzte persische Literatur ins Deutsche und begleitete analytisch und engagiert die politische Entwicklung in Iran seit den 60er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts. Er gilt als einer der besten Kenner der iranischen politischen Verhältnisse.

Born in Tehran in 1936, he came to Germany at the age of 14. The Philosopher and Iranist translated Persian literature into German and has been an analytical and committed observer of political developments in Iran since the 1960s.
