Detlev Claussen: "Der rechte Kulturkampf - The right-wing culture war - La lutte culturelle de droite."

🎓 Stefan Fuchs (Wissenschaftsjournalist) im Gespräch mit Detlev Claussen (geb. 1948). Detlev Claussen war bis zu seiner Emeritierung 2011 Professor für Gesellschaftstheorie, Kultur- und Wissenssoziologie an der Leibniz Universität Hannover. Schwerpunkte seiner Arbeit waren unter anderem Antisemitismus, Rassismus und Nationalismus. In diesem Gespräch beschreibt Detlev Claussen den Kulturkampf der demokratischen Gesellschaften in Europa. Insbesondere in Deutschland ist die demokratische Vielfalt und Diversität unter den Beschuss insbesonderer rechter Parteien und Bewegungen geraten. So die rechtsradikale AFD, die homophobe und auf Lügen gestützte Strategien unterschiedslos von Donald Trump und Vladimir Putin kopiert, und damit Wortführer dieses demokratiefeindlichen Kulturkampfes ist. Detlv Claussen verortet die Ursachen jedoch weit vor der Gründung der AFD oder anderer rechtsradikaler Parteien in Europa.

Until his retirement in 2011, Detlev Claussen was Professor of Social Theory, Cultural Sociology and Sociology of Knowledge at Leibniz University Hannover. His work focused on anti-Semitism, racism and nationalism, among other topics. In this conversation, Detlev Claussen describes the culture war being waged by democratic societies in Europe. In Germany in particular, democratic pluralism and diversity have come under attack, especially from right-wing parties and movements. The right-wing extremist AFD, for example, which indiscriminately copies homophobic and lie-based strategies from Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, is currently the spokesperson for this anti-democratic culture war. However, Detlev Claussen locates the causes far before the founding of the AFD or other right-wing extremist parties in Europe.

🎓 Michael Briefs (Kulturjournalist) im Gespräch mit Michael Daxner (geb. 1947). Der deutsch-österreichische Soziologe Michael Daxner war schon seit den 70er Jahren des vergangenen Jahrhunderts in Afghanistan aktiv. Nach Jahren des Engagements für Afghanistan nach der Befreiung von den Taliban wird die Frustration über die Internationale Staatengemeinschaft in diesem Gespräch überdeutlich. Afghanistan mutierte nach dramtischen Fehleinschätzungen zu Beginn der Besetzung später zum operativen Versuchsfeld neuer Waffentechnologien wie Drohnen und Uranminition. Insbesondere die Bundeswehr profitierte logistisch und sammelte Kampferfahrung in der jahrlangen Besetzung. Nach dem Abzug der Besatzungsarmeen hatten die Afghanen ihre Schuldigkeit getan. Heute warten Zehntausende auf den versprochenen Flüchtlingsstatus besonders in Deutschland. Pakistan hat 2025 damit begonnen, diese Flüchtlinge wieder zurück zu den Taliban nach Afghanistan abzuschieben.
/ 🎓 Michael Briefs (cultural journalist) in conversation with Michael Daxner (born 1947). The German-Austrian sociologist Michael Daxner has been active in Afghanistan since the 1970s. After years of commitment to Afghanistan following its liberation from the Taliban, his frustration with the international community becomes abundantly clear in this conversation. After dramatic misjudgements at the beginning of the occupation, Afghanistan later mutated into a testing ground for new weapons technologies such as drones and uranium ammunition. The German Armed Forces in particular benefited logistically and gained combat experience during the years of occupation. After the occupying armies withdrew, the Afghans had done their duty. Today, tens of thousands are waiting for the promised refugee status, especially in Germany. Pakistan began deporting these refugees back to the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2025.
مایکل بریفس (ژورنالیست کلتوری) در گفتگو با مایکل داکسنر (متولد 1947). مایکل داکسنر، جامعه شناس آلمانی- اتریشی از دهه هفتاد خورشیدی در افغانستان فعالیت داشته است. پس از سالها تعهد به افغانستان در پی رهایی آن از دست طالبان، نا امیدی او از جامعه جهانی در این گفت‌وگو به وفور آشکار می‌شود. به تعقیب محاسبات نادرست دراماتیک در آغاز اشغال، افغانستان بعداً به یک میدان آزمایشی عملیاتی برای تکنالوژی های جدید تسلیحاتی مانند هواپیماهای بدون سرنشین و مهمات یورانیم جهش یافت. بوندسویر، به ویژه، از نظر لوجستیکی بهره مند شد و در جریان سال های اشغال تجربه جنگی را بدست آورد. بعد از خروج قوای اشغالگر، افغان ها وظیفه خود را انجام داده بودند. امروز، ده ها هزار نفر منتظر وضعیت پناهنده وعده داده شده، به ویژه در آلمان هستند. پاکستان در سال 2025 شروع به اخراج این پناهندگان به طالبان در افغانستان کرد. وضعیت پناهنده وعده داده شده توسط سیاستمداران حاکم از آنها رد می شود.

🎓 Christoph Burgmer im Gespräch mit Udo Steinbach (1943-2025). Der Islamwissenschaftler Udo Steinbach war ein intimer Kenner der türkischen Verhältnisse. Udo Steinbach leitete beinahe 30 Jahre das Deutsche Orient Institut, von 1976 bis 2007, und damit die älteste private gemeinnützige Einrichtung zur Nah- und Mittelostforschung in Europa. Er veröffentlichte zahlreiche Bücher zur Türkei und zusammen mit dem Islamwissenschaftler Werner Ende war er Herausgeber des deutschen Standartwerkes "Der Islam in der Gegenwart." In diesem Gespräch aus dem Jahr 1996 erläutert Udo Steinbach die politischen Perspektiven der Türkei.

Das kleine Portugal erlebte mit dem "Estado Novo" die am längsten andauernde faschistische Diktatur in Europa. Sie begann mit einemn Militärputsch 1926 und endete mit der Nelkenrevolution 1974. Am Ende des Estado Novo waren 32 Prozent der Portugiesen Analphabeten, das durchschnittliche jährliche Pro-Kopf Einkommen betrug 160,- US $ und die Sterblichkeitsrate Neugeborener war die höchste Europas. In der Gegenwart versucht die rechtsradikale und rassistische  "Chega Partei" des Juristen und ehemaligen Finanzbeamten André Ventura an die faschistische Tradition des Estado Novo anzuknüpfen.

Der niederländische Sprachwissenschaftler Teun A. van Dijk lehrte an der Universität Amsterdam und an der Universität Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Sein empirischer Forschungsgegenstand sind Elite- und Alltagsrassismus. Er gehört zusammen mit Siegried Jäger (1937-2020) vom Duisburger Institut für Sprach-und Sozialforschung (DISS) zu den Pionieren der Diskursanalyse. Seit den 80er jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts entwickelten sie Analysemethoden, um sowohl versteckten Alltagsrassismus im Zusammenspiel mit Eliterassismus von unter anderem Politikern sicht- und messbar machen zu können. In diesem Gespräch wird u.a. der Frage nachgegangen, welchen Einfluss rassistische Äußerungen durch Eliten in Medien und Parteien auf die Gesellschaft haben.🎓 Christoph Burgmer in conversation with Teun A. van Dijk (born 1943). Seit den 70er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts verfolgt Joshua Meyrowitz die Veränderungen der medialen Vermittlung von Informationen in den USA. Massenmedien haben die amerikanische Gesellschaft bis in die Gegenwart radikal verändert. Das Zusammenspiel von Kaptalinteressen und Massenmedien hat die kritische Berichterstattung in den USA beinahe zum erliegen gebracht. Öffentlich zugängliche Informationern sind in den USA der Gegenwart durch Falschinformationen, Hetze und Lügen im Sinne der Kapitaleigner manipuliert.

Since the 1970s, he has been following the changes in the medial communication of information in the USA. Mass media have radically changed American society right up to the present day. The interplay between corporate interests and the mass media has almost brought critical reporting in the USA to a standstill. Publicly accessible informations in the USA today are manipulated by misinformation, agitation and lies in the interests of the owners of capital.
